EVER-CHANGING:
A COLLECTION
This project started from snow. From there developed a concept of ephemerality and change, as change is a constant in everything. These ideas are translated through the construction of random homemade machines from an array of materials, through the use of ice in both machines and in the knitted fabrics, as well as through the knits themselves. The knitted samples highlight change through the changing of yarns, through varying the weight in the knits and through changing the stitch sizes with contrasting areas of condensed knit with loose and open stitches. The processes behind the making of these fabrics is essential to understanding the concept and ideas behind them as each machine used and each material made is unique. The process constantly changes, as well as the outcome.
